With Callie as Mrs. Clause and Nate without a cap, they’ve just settled in for a long evening of gifts and all that. With a sack full of presents and all the jolly jingles to match, it’s a night of adventures before the club closes for the holidays. What could possibly go wrong?
Couples featured include David & Myla, Emilio & Laci, Russell & Anita, and Emeric & Serenity. This can be read as a stand alone with minimal teasers, but the suggested reading order is after Slice of Desire in the Sins & Secrets world.
This book has convinced me to read the entire series. It was such a fun read and I completely fell in love with DeFore’s writing style! I blew through it in a single day and simply couldn’t put it down. To say that I am sold on this series from this Novella alone is an understatement. It’s going directly in my TBR for 2025, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the other books!

Christmas Sins is a spicy christmas novella that follows four couples who are part of a BDSM sex club. Right from the start it is very clear that DeFore knows what they are writing about. There are details such as safe words, tapping out and aftercare. Books like this, with such detail, have my heart. This alone, those little details, made me in love with the novella and convinced me to get my hands on the entire series!
This was my first book by DeFore and it definitely will not be my last. If their other books are just as good as this one, then they are on their way to become one of my favourite smut writers. The book was very readable as a stand-alone, and serves well as a little taste for the other books. There are some little throw backs here and there, but they don’t take away from the novella as a whole. The perfect book to dip your toes in to see if the series is something you would enjoy!
Each couple felt unique, with their owns quirks and kinks. I love it when there are multipe Point of Views. I feel like it adds to the overall story and gives more insight in all of the characters, and thus the story as well. Every character has their own traits, and you really feel like they each are unique. Sometimes, when a book features more than two characters, I get the feeling they are a bit of a copy paste. But with this book, that was not the case at all! Each and every character felt like their own person, a feat that isn’t easy but DeFore pulled off really well! This little sneak peak in their (very kinky) lives make me oh so very curious to their story.
DeFore has a writing style that is very easily readable, fast paces and detailed enough to keep my squirrel brain entertained. It hit all of the right notes for me, from the length of the sentences to the words being used.
Another thing I really want to mention is the fact that it is very clear that the writer did their research on kinks and the kink community. From the way that the Doms take care of their Subs in little ways, to aftercare, to little details in their way of thinking. I don’t think I’ve read a book yet that has such realistic and well-done details about the kink community.

This book was a wild ride, to say the least. Even more so than I had expected from the blurb alone. It surprised me, but it was a pleasant surprise. Christmas Sins managed to suck me in from the very first page. Before I knew it I had made my way through the entire novella. And I wished there was more. Lucky me, this is a series!

If you like smut with a side of plot, this is the book for you! Especially if you are doubting if the Sins & Secrets series is something you would enjoy. It serves as the perfect little sneak peak into the world that DeFore has created. It gives just enough of a little taste to crave more, if this is your cup of tea. A really well-done kink novella, which I enjoyed with my whole heart! Can’t wait to get my hands on the entire series!
